"Into Another Day" , Nine Times Blue's new album will be out in early 2012!
Hey folks! It's been a long time comin', but we are happy to announce that we're just-about finished mixing and mastering our brand-new album, Into Another Day, and it'll be released in early 2012. To say that we're excited about this album is like saying we like pizza. 'Cause, see, we don't just like pizza. We LOVE pizza! See what we did there? Pretty slick, right? RIGHT?! Okay, fine. You come up with a clever analogy.
Anyway, it's 10 cool tracks, all written by Kirk and/or Eric. We're still working on the exact track order, but here's the songs:
- Million Miles
- New Beginnings
- Silent Words
- Falling Slowly
- Grace of God
- I Can't See You
- Euphemism
- Serena
- Fun and Games
- On Me Today
We've been honored to have several terrific guests join us on many of the tracks, including members of the extended Nine Times Blue family, Eric Leland and Jerry Mason. Other friends who've been kind enough to help include: Strange Weather's Rich Grillo (who recorded us in his studio), drummers extraordinaire Mike Meadows (Porterdavis, Sahara Smith, BoDeans) and Dave Anthony (IKE, Michelle Malone, Sonia Leigh, etc.), IKE's John Faye and Brett Talley, ex-Pinx member/ex-Star Collector and ex-JTG Implosion vocalist & guitarist Joe Giddings, ex-Merrymaker David Myhr, Jonathan Gale (of Jonathan Gale Band / Deep Cut), and a little help from Squeeze's Chris Difford and some great suggestions from Semisonic's Jacob Slichter. Additionally, the amazing Don McCollister (B-52s, Shawn Mullins, Third Day, Sister Hazel, Indigo Girls, Evan & Jaron, etc.) has been mixing a good portion of the album and will handle mastering duties. He's makin' us sound silky smooth. We've also got an amazing CD package, which features the fine work of Mr. Kevin Spencer. Every one of these guys has contributed his time and talent to help make our record even better, and we can't thank them enough.
Oh - and did we mention that the album will be coming out on City Hall Records? Well - it is, and that's DAMN COOL!! We'll update you again once we have an official release date. We'll have plenty of CDs on hand, but we'll also have the album available through iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby, eMusic, Napster, Rhapsody and at many of your finest retail locations. Perhaps we'll even sell a few from local Walmart parking lots. We're always looking for an excuse to hang out in those.
So, that's what's a-comin'. But you know what...we're also putting together a full band lineup of Nine Times Blue, starting with our new drummer, Jason Brewer. We'll be booking some shows around Atlanta (and perhaps beyond) this Fall and Winter to promote the new stuff and rock your faces off, or perhaps just rattle your boogers. We hope to see ya at 'em!
Nine Times Blue is a Guiness World Record Holder!
Do you know what band is now in the Guiness Book of Records? Nine Times Blue, beotch!! We were part of the "343 For Kids Concert", sponsored by the Children's Restoration Network (CRN) in July 2010 - 343 hours of non-stop music to break the record for "World's Longest Concert by multiple artists". So - you gotta ask yourself - would you rather listen to REM, or Justin Beiber, or Lady Gaga...or would you rather listen to a band that has a WORLD RECORD!?!? I think the choice is easy...but when you're done listening to Lady Gaga...please consider giving us a listen, too. |
